Purchasing a steam or infrared sauna can be hard. With literally hundreds of products out there to choose from the process can be overwhelming and confusing. Fortunately, we’re here to help.

Our staff is dedicated to researching and rating the best saunas on the market. Over the years we’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours testing products from around the world. We consider the quality and sturdiness of each sauna. But we also evaluate the saunas’ medical benefits. We assess how effective each unit is at helping customers lose weight, relieve pain, and detoxify, among other things.

After completing our latest round of trials, we would love to report that we could recommend dozens of saunas – or even a top ten list. The problem is that most saunas aren't very effective. Our recent reviews only found three products that are worth endorsing. Below are the top 3 saunas for February, 2018.

1. Medical 6 Plus Sauna

The Medical 6 Plus is not just great; it’s hands down the best sauna you can buy. While most saunas are merely designed to make users perspire, the 6 Plus goes above and beyond that to provide medical benefits. Go to their website, and you can see that over 26 doctors, engineers, physical therapists, pain specialists, and surgeons back these fantastic saunas. It’s warm, soothing heat will relieve aching muscles and help speed up recover time for injuries. It boosts the body’s metabolic rate, which promotes weight loss. The 6 Plus’s Rapid Internal Heating System™ can increase your endorphin levels to reduces stress. And it’s 3D Heat Therapy™ promotes rapid sweating. This detoxifies the body; purging heavy metals, pollutants, preservatives, pesticides, and poisons. Lastly, unlike most saunas, the Medical 6 Plus is made from thick, untreated wood. This allows you to bathe for hours at a time, and makes you feel like you’re in the middle of a forest.

2. Alta Series Sauna

Amerec makes high-quality saunas. The design of their Alta Series is attractive, yet simple. The sauna’s interior and exterior is constructed with Western Red Cedar. It features elegant exterior and interior lighting, angled benches to complement the neo angle wall, and sleek headrests and curved backrests. Amerec makes very nice products, but its technology is not cutting edge. The reason these saunas made our list is because of their quality. If you are looking for the best price with the most features, there are better saunas out there. On the other hand, if you are just looking for a sauna with value, Amerec is a good choice.

3. Baltic Leisure

Baltic Leisure’s parent company, Penn Sauna Corp., is one of the most consistent spa companies in America. With Baltic Leisure’s latest model, Penn once again lives up to its reputation. These saunas' advanced technology creates a constant level of infrared heat to penetrate the body to induce profuse sweating for detoxification. Also they’re constructed with cedar. Although the bells and whistles that Baltic Leisure offer are impressive, it’s not as sturdy as other saunas. Don’t get us wrong – a Baltic Leisure won’t break down on you immediately. Just don’t expect them to last for 10 years.
